I wrote this post right after Robyn's death in August of 2018, but I didn't feel like posting it until today. Memories of Robyn are tender to her mom, Ellen, and JJ and Jon Mark, her siblings. So, I wanted to wait and share some of my memories of that time and of Robyn as a really little girl. Later on, I plan to post more pictures of her.
This past year has been difficult enough with the quarantining from COVID19, and now I am returning home from both the beach and Kentucky. The beach was fantastic! We like St. George Island, Florida, and Sam, Gaile, Ellen and I had a great week there. People were careful about masks and social distancing. We were able to relax on this "old Florida" beach and enjoy the beautiful sunrises, sunsets, sea oats, white sands, the bay, and much more!

Unfortunately, our last day at the beach changed when Ellen received a call that her daughter, Robyn, was admitted to the ICU at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. We left the next morning and I traveled to Lexington with Ellen. Our first visit to the hospital was not until Tuesday, August 4, when Ellen and I were able to visit Robyn.
My first thoughts about Robyn were not about the Robyn I knew recently, but "all of the Robyn's" I remember. My first recollection was at her birth. Being a first-time aunt, I often went by to see Ellen and Robyn so that I could "play" with the new baby. This resulted in my holding her and singing the old rock song, "Rockin' Robin," and she will always be "Rockin' Robyn" to me.
My favorite picture of Robyn will always be the one below, Robyn in a red dress:
